Francisco was born and raised in Mexico City. He studied Political Science (B.A.) at ITAM and Japanese Studies (M.A.) at El Colegio de México. Nine years ago, he moved to Japan to live in a small temple at a village nearby Kyoto City. Four years later, he moved to Kyoto City to further study Japanese Language. Currently, he is a PhD student at Kyoto University. His research focuses on the history of meditation manuals and meditation groups of the Rinzai Zen School in Postwar Japan. He is looking forward to visiting the temples and shrines on the streets and hills of Kyoto City with you.
